How to install W:ET with patches 2.6 + 2.6b

How to install W:ET with patches 2.6 + 2.6b

I decided to make some topics how to install different stuffs from et, like et, patches (2.6 + 2.6b) and other programs included for et.
I will start with turtual how to install et with both patches.

1.) How to install W:ET

First u need to download et.exe.

-Download link: et.exe
-Size: 258 MB

After u download program and installed it, u can go on step 2.

2.) How to install 2.6 patch

-Download link: 2.6 patch
-Size: 5.3 MB

Download program and install it.

3.) How to install 2.6b patch

-Download link: 2.6b patch
-Size: 1.6 MB

Well some ppl don't really know how to install 2.6b patch nor know it even exist. Prob is, that without 2.6b patch u wont be really able to play etpro and for that u can have some probs if u dont have installed.

First u need to do is download this patch. After that unzip/unrar and open it and it should look like this:

The map contains original 5 files, as u can see i added allready zipped win32 since thats the only file u need from this pack.
Open normal win32 file and u should get 2 icons: ET and ETDED

Now u need to go at location where ur W:ET is installed. Most of ppl have install on C disk some on D or anywhere else.
Example: C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory

The et location should look like this:

U wont have exact same files in it as u have just installed et but that doesn't matter. What u need to do is now, copy those two icons from win32 map " ET and ETDED " and overwrite these two that are in ur ET location and with that u will install 2.6b patch.

Now u have installed W:ET, 2.6 + 2.6b patch which enables u to play etpro + jaymod. All u need to do now is to install "et patch selector" which enable u to swich between 4 patches: 2.55 , 2.56 , 2.6 , 2.6b. Mostly used are only 2.55 ( for jaymod ) and 2.6b ( for etpro ). Installing "et patch selector " is important because u wont be stucked to only one patch 2.55 or 2.6b but it will be easy to swich between every patch and it wont take u more then 2 sec for it.

4.) How to install et patch selector

Here are 2 avalible et patch selectors, select which one u prefer more.

1st ETPatchSelector

-Download link:et patch selector for XP
-Size: 8.2 MB
-OS: Windows XP

After u downloaded file, unzip and and install it.
It should look like this:

Now u only need to select which patch u want and hit "Apply Patch" and it will be changed.

2nd ETPatchSelector

-Download link: et patch selector for XP, VISTA, WIN7
-Size: 6.8 MB
-OS: Windows XP, VISTA, WIN 7

-Unzip file, and u should have 3 files.

Now install "Fatmans ETPack", after u install it u should get 3 icons:

In this pack u get:

1: ETKeySwitcher
A program designed for easy switching of your etkey without accidently deleting one

2: ETLauncher
Add servers to a list for quick and easy joining. You can also add cfg files to select each time and applications to load each time.

3: ETPatchSelector
A very simple program to easily switch between 2.55 2.56 2.60 and 2.60b patches

For now we need only ETPatchSelector, other not urgent. Double click on "ETPatchSelector" and select the path:

After that u will get program open:

Click the patch u wish to swich and after click "ok"

4.) How to install et minimizer

-Download link: Minimizer
-Size: 440 KB
-OS: Windows XP , WIN7 and probably also vista

Download file, unzip it and install after u should have like that:

Set the options like its showed on pic and set keys for minimize game.
